memory card problem

Hi all

I have a feeling that my memory card has died but wanted to ask about the issue I was having before giving it the final rites. (I have a Blankberry Curve 8310.) When I go under options and then Media Card it informs me that the card cannot be read and to verify that the card is formatted. When I try formatting it I am then told that the Media Card Format Failed. I have tried removing the battery, and I checked the Support section of the website, no luck. I imagine I will go back to AT&T but knowing how that goes they will probably just try to sell me another one. Anything else I can try to get this thing to work? My precious Deep Space Nine ringtone, how shall I live without it?!

Thanks. :smileyhappy:

Re: memory card problem

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Are you able to see the card in a card reader, using Windows my computer?

It should come up it and display just like a flash drive.

If you can access it, left click on it and select properties, tools,

Error checking. Click both boxes and run the test, it will attempt repair on file system

errors and scan for bad sectors and attempt to recover data if the

the card is damaged.

If you can't access in the Blackberry or the card reader it's probably "toast" :smileywink:

You did mention getting from At&T. You may want to try the internet and see

what the prices are. I bought my 8gb with card reader for about $30 with shipping,

and that was at least four months ago. I've had good luck with a Sandisk, and  I've

seen a lot of posts where other user are happy with them as well. Kingston makes

a good card also.

Thanks

Re: memory card problem

Well it looks like it is toasty, the computer can't detect it at all either. It was also a Sandisk that cost $30 so looks like I'll have to go buy another. Thanks so much for your help!
