I have a 9320 it now has a 16GB  media card but I am unable to find a simple answer to transfering phot's to to the sd card. can I do this or not?

Are those Images stored on your device memory, If it is try this Knowledge Base :

 

KB05478  : Transfer  files  between  the Media card and device memory on a BlackBerry smartphone
