new bbm version 7 doesn't work on BB 9320

I recently bought a BB 9320
It has all up to date software except the bbm it has is version 6.1.0.71
I've tried to dowmload\upgrade to the newer bbm version but whenever go to bb appworld 1)bbm isn't listed in my apps listing 2)when I do locate bbm to dowload\upgrade in appworld it says that the new version of bbm isn't supported for this device
What is up with that?

Are you able to uninstall that version of bbm, battery pull and reinstall from appworld?

Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums

 

 

On  App World Catalog Catelog page I see Trinidad and Tobago in " Supported Country " list http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/3729/?lang=en , you should not have recieved that error regarding unsupported device. You can try deleting BBM from Options > Device > Application Management > Delete BBM , then a Battery pull Retsart.

 

Then from your BlackBerry Browser browse to www.blackberry.com/bbm and try downloading BBM 7  again.

thanks i will try that...but will that affect my bbm contacts?

would i have to add them back?

thank you for your solution....will this affect my bbm contacts? im thinking that i may have re-add them to bbm if i delete it

Hi trinigeni

 

                    Before trying to update your BBM please do a backup of all your BBM contacts,This newer BBM 7 will not allow you a local backup of your Contacts but will integrate or associate all your BBM contact with your BlackBerry ID. So to avoid any incident do a back using BlackBerry Desktop Software.

ok but in any case i tried to uninstall bbm thru "Application Management" and there is no options for removing bbm.

 

i guess im stuck with it :smileysad:

Hi trnigeni

 

 

                     On application Management don't click just  highlight BlackBerry Messenger application > press the Menu key > Then delete it.

 

If you are unable to view BlackBerry Messenger on Application Management Screen then it means it was not properly install on your device.

i think that RIM has made the BBM software in this phone default.....meaning its required as part of the software of the phone because when i use BB Desktop software and go into the Applications "tab" i cannot remove it there either

 

maybe they will launch an update soon
