That is such a very odd result...just to be clear I'm understanding...please verify:

  1. Your BB will boot up fine with your battery, but has these sudden shut down episodes.
  2. Your battery will operate your friends BB just fine, no issues at all.
  3. But your BB with your friends battery won't boot up at all.

If those are all true, then that has to qualify as one of the strangest results I've ever heard of. It might be worth your time to find another identical BB that does not have any problems...and do the battery trade with them. This is quite an odd result indeed...

 

Failing all of that, we return to the actions discussed all the way up in Post 2 above...WIPE, reload, BBSAK, etc. Those processes can be very tedious, but if you want to try them, let me know and I can give you the steps to follow.

During the day I'm at work, network signal is good I guess just like at home. I think I use my phone more at night. I only have BBM, whatsup, facebook, news 24 app on my phone

OK...here the all are...

 

Be sure you prepare by looking at the link in my auto-sig regarding full and complete backup...you will need all of that in order to restore once you find a configuration that works.

 

Each of these you will conduct, and then wait until either the behavior re-appears, or you judge that you've waited long enough that it won't re-appear. At which point you will stop and conduct your restore. If the problem re-appears after the restore, then you must decide if your judgment regarding how long to wait was flawed...in which case you re-do that step and wait longer...or you proceed into the next attempt.

 

This will be tedious. Given what you've said, I'd expect this all to take you days, and perhaps weeks to fully complete. Note carefully in some of the processes the iterative steps...those are important to pay close attention to for they require you to, if conditions warrant, fall back to a previous step within that process.

 

Also keep in mind this -- If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.

 


 

On device WIPE:

  • KB14058 How to delete all data and applications from the BlackBerry smartphone using the Security Wipe option

Be sure to select ALL of the available items that are shown as tic boxes to select

 


 

Reset To Factory WIPE:

"Bare Bones" OS Reload Diagnostic Process

 

To prepare: 


1) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages

2) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

3) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:

4) Delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
  • C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

 

5) Use this procedure, to from a PC, install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:

Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC.

 

Then follow these steps to perhaps narrow down the precise causal item:

  1. Load your OS (via item 5 above) "bare bones"...if anything is optional (e.g., languages, apps, etc.), do not install it.
  2. If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
  3. If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
  4. Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
  5. If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents

When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.

If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.

Thanx man, will get back to u but I think I should b sorted. 1last thing, pls tell me ths desktop manager is it ok when I use 1 for a 8520 curve because my phone never came with a cd to load on my PC so I took 1 frm the 8520 curve and loaded it. Will it help me now?

I don't quite understand...you took the Desktop Manager from an 8520 device? That's not possible. Maybe you took the CD that came with that device?

 

In any event...it's irrelevant. You need to cleanse your PC of EVERYTHING related to BB in order to make sure this runs correctly. To do that, please follow steps 1 and 2 friom this thread:

Then, start over with the above preparation steps so that you have a new and clean installation of the most recent BB Desktop Software as well as the relevant BB OS package (both of those install to your PC).

Good day,

I have thought about it in my sleep. I must try another battery because (1) it never shuts down during charging (2) SOMETIMES it shuts down and when I put it on charger its turns on even though the battery is still indicating that it is still ok. But what puzzles me the most is when before it would show LED light when charged without battery inserted but now if it shuts itself down that light doesn't show
