"my number" is wrong

The number that is shown under "my number" is off by one digit...i think maybe the guy at bestbuy programmed it wrong or something. when i call my phone using my actual number it still works, its just listed wrong on the screen itself. how do i change that? i have a new curve and other posts say to go to options, advanced options, sim card, then edit from there, except "sim card" is not an option for me.

Re: "my number" is wrong

Hi and welcome to the forums!

got to OPTIONS - OWNER - here you can put in your name and number correctly.

JUST FYI, I put my home number rather than my device number, just in case I lose it, some one might call the number to return it!

Please let us know if you need anything else.

If this answers your question please put the resolved check in the post that answered the question.

Thanks !

Re: "my number" is wrong

Thanks for responding so quickly, unfortunately that didn't work for me, here's what happened:

Under "owner" it says "name" and "information". so i typed my name after "name" and my phone number after "information", then saved it. there isn't anything that says "phone number" under the owner section. when i went back to my main screen it still lists the same wrong number. hmm...

Re: "my number" is wrong

Try this,

Pull the battery out while the phone is ON, wait for a minute and replace.

Let the phone reboot 1-3 minutes and see if your info is correct,

Let me know!

Re: "my number" is wrong

yeah i just got it today, brand new from best buy. the number is literally one digit off from my actual number, which is why i think its a human mistake...probably the guy who set up my phone did it on accident. thanks for helping...

Re: "my number" is wrong

Hi,

When you take it back, please ask the tech to explain how he did this, we can put this in our database.

Thanks,

Bifocals, you confused "Owner Information" and "SIM Card Number"

You don't set the Number for "My Number" in Options -> Owner.

You go to Options -> Advanced Options -> SIM Card -> MenuButton -> Edit SIM Phone Number.

Hi Javec,

The user had specified the number displayed on the phone.

In ver 4.3 options owner is where you type the information.

Maybe I misunderstood, we'll see,

But thank you very much for that piece of information, I didn't know that.

I appreciate it!

Thanks!

P.S. on my 8330 ver 4.3 I do not have that option!
