recovery of data onto new handset (same model)

Hi, I've just had my bb 8520 repaired and am looking to restore my contacts from my desktop backup. The file name on my desktop reads "AutoBackup-(2011-12-22).ipd" , but when I try to access it through the blackberry software to restore, it is not found. It finds the folder but no contents inside.

Looking forward to your help

Gareth

Re: recovery of data onto new handset (same model)

Hello !

Since you know how to to take Back Up, so I am presuming that you are following the correct way to restore data on your device through BlackBerry Desktop Software.

Well in your case, does your desktop have that "AutoBackup-(2011-12-22).ipd" file in any folder or is it there on your desktop screen.?

Here I would like to clarify one more thing, that in the restore option you are selecting .ipd file other then folder?

Re: recovery of data onto new handset (same model)

Hello

The .ipd folder is in "my documents" but when I go to access my documents using the blackberry restore function, it does not let me enter (presumably because it cannot see a file in the D/my documents/blackberry folder). I've verified the blackberry pin is correct on the computer.

Looking forward to  your reply
