Re: synchrinising my email contacts on my blackberry

Hello,

Is that the exact and complete error message? And, exactly where are you putting your password in? To the device email configuration wizard? Via your carriers BIS website? Some other method?

Exactness and completeness always help us to better help you.

Thanks and let us know!

Re: synchrinising my email contacts on my blackberry

Yes that's what it says on my device , I am putting my password into my device, I go into setup , I select the type of of email account I want to set up (internet mail account) that's when it prompting for my password I put my password in and like I said before I keep getting that message your device encountered a problem with this applications server. I can sychronise my other email address contacts

From your description, that would be your email account credentials at which point the failure occurs. This KB might be useful:

  • KB31736 "Your device encountered a problem with this application's server" appears when attempting a wireless activation using Gmail

Unfortunately, it's rather sparse in it's information. Consequently, you should try other means to integrate this particular email account.

You can try, from a PC/Browser, your carriers (vodafone) BIS website (if they have one)...here is a partial list:

If your carrier is not listed, you may need to ask them for the url to use.

You can try, from your BB Browser, this link:

Sometimes, that works when other means fail.

Lastly, you can contact vodafone and ask them to configure the email account for you...IMHO that's always a risky venture as it requires you to reveal to the agent your email account credentials, but sometimes they can succeed in configuring the email account into BIS where the end user cannot.

Good luck and let us know!

Re: synchrinising my email contacts on my blackberry

It's a pity you only say "they arent working" (sic)...with so little detail, I can't possibly guess what happened. Perhaps if you provide the steps you conduct and the results of each step, along with the exact and complete contents of any error messages you are presented, then we might have more of a chance to provide you something useful. But, from what you've just said, there's really no direction in which to make a useful guess...
