synchronising hotmail contacts

i have been able to sync to hotmail account and can send and receive email but when i try to sync contacts it says, 'your device encountered a prob with this application,s server  try again'  please help

Hey eav,

Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.

 

This may be an issue with the service books on the BlackBerry® smartphone. Try clearing your database as shown here:
How to clear the user content databases from the BlackBerry smartphone

After completing this,reinsert the battery and then update your service books as shown here:
http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/KB16383
