Re: tethering 8530

Hello,

Start here:

  • KB05178 Support for tethered modem use

If your intent is to use your BB as a modem for internet access for your computer, then the answer is maybe -- it depends on factors such as your carrier allowing it and you configuring the proper things for it. But that's just a pass thru...you don't "do" anything on your BB from your computer, you just use it as a modem for your computer to access the internet.

If your question is about controlling, from your computer, things that actually reside on your BB (e.g., doing your BB-handled email, from your computer)...the answer is no. That's not a function available on the platform.

But, if you have a PlayBook, then via BB Bridge, you can control things on your BB..like that email.

Good luck!
