Hi,
I have a bit of a problem and i am sure that with your help, i should be able to fix it myself. Please bear in mind that even though i have had blackberrys for years, i am still considered a newbie on the technical aspect.
First i have always used my blackberry for work. I have just left my company so bought a Curve 8900, and downloaded the desktop manager to transfer all my data from one to the other.
Well since this has happened, i took my phone to the shop and had them remove my professional adress to keep only my gmail adress. Now i have tried to read about this error message which seems to usually pop up while running an app. My error message (uncaught exception net.rim.device.api.i18n.missingresourceexception) comes in when i turn the phone off and put it back on.
I would really like to fix that - could you please walk me through the steps to fix it please?
Thank you

Didn't find any information on the error in the Knowledgebase.
Do you have the Desktop Manager installed on your computer? May end up having to wipe the deivce or reload the OS.

First you download the Desktop Manager from here. Version 4.7 without media manager is the recommended version to get.
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code
After that's installed you can connected the BlackBerry to the computer and click the Backup and Restore icon. Then hit the Backup button. Doing so will save all the device data to an IPD file on your computer (usually in your My Documents folder).
Next you can find your carrier in this list and download the handheld software
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/dow
After that is installed you can start to reload the OS by navigating to C:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and clicking on the loader.exe file, or opening the Desktop Manager and clicking on the Application Loader icon. Doing either will start a wizard that walks you through reloading or updating the device software.
Here is a good guide I found a while back has screenshots and shows you step by step instructions.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!,
You should reload your OS. From a PC, you can install any OS package to a BB via this procedure:
Note that while written for "reload", it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. You can even use a different carriers OS package by simply inserting, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, of a file named VENDOR.XML. Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
