wi-fi, appworld not working properly

Im using curve 9300. app world and facebook was working properly, Of a sudden it stoped working,. it says connect to wi-fi while im connected and browser works properly. when device is turned off and battry removed and re inserted appworld works again.... need a fix..

Hello!

I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):

1) Register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network



2) Delete and Resend Service Books

  • KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service



3) Batt Pull Reboot

  • Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Ahhh...that explains everything! Without a BB data plan, many services simply don't work. See this for general guidance:

Whatever service plan you actually have will determine what will and will not work. But, suffice it to say, that any of the BB-specific items (including all that you mentioned) will not work without a proper BB data plan. The fact that they worked for a bit was quirky...sometimes it just takes the carriers a while to catch up with folks and shut down services that are not being paid for.

u r quite helpfull and know a lot of stuf... thanks a lot.. but still facebook shows the error "No data plan activated so connect to wi-fi.

As I recall, the RIM-written FB app requires an active data plan from a carrier, even if attempting to use via WiFi. Hence, it falls into one of those apps that will not function for you.

Honestly, a BB without a full BB data plan is very difficult to use...they quite simply are not made to be used stand alone. If you do not get a BB data plan, my advice is actually to get a non-BB smartphone.

hi i also have the same issue my AW n FB works only when i make i battery pull reboot. after reboot AW n FB etc works for a day than it stops working and starts showing error that Please connect to a wireless network n try again. although i am cnnected!!
i dont have any of the BB services , i have got bold 9780 and my brother also have the same device and also dont use any BB service but it works fine on his device..!

I got it to work on my 9300 by using the BB browser to go directly to blackberry.com and installing Appworld directly from there. I can now browse and install apps without a SIM card. Even Gmail via the browser works.
