Hey I have the 8350i version 220.127.116.11 having the same problem it was working perfectly till 10/24 that's when the connection problem began. Can't find solution to the problem yet. Keep looking....

All in this thread, try this solution that I have seen work for some...
On your BlackBerry device, go to Options > Advanced > Service Books.
Find in the list and scroll the two service books for BBFS2 [YHO] and (if you have this one) the BBFS1 [BBIMConfig] for Yahoo! Messenger. Don't click on the service book, just scroll to and press the Menu key > Delete.
Then, reboot: With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
Now, resend your device Service Books:
1. Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table > Menu > Register.
2. Resend your service books from your carrier BIS site.
From your handheld device: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15402
From your desktop PC: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830
3. With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot
Upon reboot, try your Yahoo Messenger again.

If others will try it (that process, in that exact order) and let us know, I would appreciate it.
Don't just delete service books and resend, do it as outlined above.

I am having the same problem.... followed instructions to a T and no luck. I even got rid of my yahoo email link on the main screen then uninstalled and re-installed messenger to no avail.

Yesterday i try to downgrade my YM! to 2.1.44, yeah it's works !!! but i can't any of my friends picture. so i try to upgrade it back to 2.10.27 today, but now it wont work anymore, even after i re-downgrade it.
and y i've been try Jsanders trick, no luck for me either ...
Blackberry please fix this up, a bb w/o YM ??? come on ...
