BBDM for Mac 1.0 won't recognize BB 7130e

Hi!  I am running Mac OS X 10.6.1 on a new MacBook Pro.  I have a BB 7130e, which still works great.  I have been using PocketMac SyncManager with a little frustration, anticipating the new BBDM for Mac, which I installed.  When I go through the recommended procedure, BBDM for Mac tells me that, "The connected BlackBerry® device is not supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager.  Try connecting a different device."  Nowhere does anything indicate that the 7130e is not supported.

 

In the Device configuration, it recognizes my phone and says that it is "Not Connected."

 

I have tried the uninstall, reinstall, iTunes, and library deletions discussed in threads for other BBs with no luck.  Help!

If you check under Options >> About on your 7130e I suspect it will say that you are running a version of software previous to 4.2.

 

The BlackBerry Desktop Manager will not be able to detect your device in this case as it requires the connected device to be running 4.2 or higher.

 

You may want to contact your wireless provider to confirm that they have a version that is 4.2 or higher for your device.

 

If so, you may need to get access to a PC and update your device software as shown via this link.

Hi!  Thanks.  I did that.  It says I have version 2.0.  I went to the BB website and ran the Device Software update, anyways.  The application loader said my BB device was running the latest available software.

 

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the BBDM software, again.  Same response, "The connected BlackBerry® device is not supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager.  Try connecting a different device."

 

Help?

I think you may be looking at the wrong section as there is no 2.0 software for your device.

 

Under Options >> About >> You should see something like: v.4.x.x.xxx platform x.x.x.xxx.

 

If you tell me what wireless provider you use I can look up the latest software they have for your device.

Thanks!  It says v4.2.1.110 (Platform 2.3.0.24).  The provider is Verizon Wireless.

I am going to try to reproduce this as that version of software should work for you.

Hi Fozzy Bear...i too have had the same issue as this individual.  I cannot synch my 7130e with my MAC.  I have exact same software as they do.  Can you please provide me the same help you did for them?  Thank you in advance!!

As it stands the BlackBerry 7130e will not detect in BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac. I will update this thread when I have more information regarding this.
