Blackberry Desktop Manager is not installing

Hello, I recently downloaded the software and tried installing it on windows 7 but it keeps giving me " is not a valid Win32 application" errors. Any help? p.s its "710_b033_multilanguage.exe"

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Here is a KB that discusses that error:

  • KB03490 Internal Error 2738. Could not access VBscript appears when installing BlackBerry Desktop Manager

While written for former versions, perhaps it yet contains something useful! There also are multiple existing threads on this site that discuss that exact error...your review of those might prove useful, and a search of this site, using the error message, error code, or symptom, should reveal all applicable existing threads to you.

Having the exact same problem with windows 7 home premium 64 bit edition. downloaded latest version of blackberry desktop (twice). when i try to run the 710_b033_multilanguage.exe application i am getting '710_b033_multilanguage.exe is not a valid win32 application'error. 

 

i have tried searching other threads but nothing comes up. surely this is a common problem?

Is there an older version of the application that works?

Sorry, but the KB linked above is very explicit in the remedies it recommends...from what you've posted here, it sounds as if you have not read and attempted what is in that KB? Please confirm.

Concerning that...well, the current version works, but not 100% (like most things with computers, perfection can never be attained). So, there are older versions...but no one cay say if, in your specific circumstance, those will work either. In any event, I would suggest this thread:

It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.

Thanks a million. I hadnt found that particular thread. Will attempt it now.
