Blackberry Software wont boot up

I have windows VISTA on my HP laptop, as far as I know I've downloaded the most current software, however every time I try to open my Blackberry "RIM" software it won't boot up.

 

I get the following message;

 

An unhandled exception

(Microsoft.Practices. Composite.Modularity.ModuleInitializeException) occurred in Rim.Desktop.exe [3156].

Check the above, might not be the same version but the error is the same and might help you out.

It ask if I want to "debug" the program, then I get a box that says " An unhandled exception etc........."  then it ask if I want to use "New instance of MS Visual Studio 2010" or "New instance of Visual Studio 2005"? 

 

I don't really have a clue on how to debug this.  I've never had this problem before.

 

Now what do I do?

Do you have any Desktop Sooftware presently installed, if so what version.

 

What is the version that you downloaded that you are try to install.

To be honest, I'm NOT excactly sure what version I'm running, though I do know that I downloaded the most recent version within the last month.  With out being able to open the program I'm not sure how to check which version I have.

I am assuming the older version is working well as you did not mention any issues with it so the choice is yours what to do. Keep using the version you have now or uninstall it and take a chance that the new version will install.

 

If you do uninstall, use Windows Search to find and delete all     "blackberry"     files before installing the new version.

You do not have to delete all your saved files.

From what you say you have one older version installed and you downloaded and installed a newer version but it will not open, if this is the case having two versions installed is your issue, if you uninstall you must uninstall both, you should also delete the newer version installer and download another one after uninstalling.

I don't believe I have and older version, this all happenend when I updated the software on my PC.  I think I'll try deleting the software and do another complete download. and see what happens.
