When trying to sync my Torch 9800 with my desktop I received the above message. I reviewed an earlier message that suggested looking in the address book for a blank id page - I do not know where to look for this - please help

Hmmm...then maybe you watn to try starting over perhaps? If so, I suggest this thread:
It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
Otherwise, if you want to seek formal support from BlackBerry, you have to go through your mobile service provider, who can escalate your case up to BlackBerry.
