Desktop Manager refuses to synchronize outlook 2010 calendar

Hi,

I had DM 5.0 pack 1807 (french version) installed on my Win 7 PC (also french version) and the synchronization with the Outlook 2010 (french version) data worked well untii I had to re-install the DM - only possible after having it uninstalled with the Revo Uninstaller deleting all references to the software. Since the re-installation I get the message, when I try to configure the calendar: "Les application d'organiseur de votre ordinateur ne sont pas prises en charge" (The organiser applications of your computers organiser are not supported).

How can I have the synchronization of the calendar getting back to work? Nothing had been changed in my Office 2010 installation that worked perfectly. On my laptop with the same configuration (with the original installation of DM) the synchronisation stilol works well. Thank you for your help.

Re: Desktop Manager refuses to synchronize outlook 2010 calendar

Hello,

I'm quite surprised...you see, your configuration should never have worked at all...refer:

  • KB12268Synchronization support for BlackBerry Desktop Software for Windows

DM 5 does not support OL2010. This explains the reason you are seeing the error that you are now experiencing.

I can't answer as to why it used to work for you...it never should have, given the configuration you describe. The only remedy I can advise is to update to a version of the Desktop Software that, as per that KB, supports OL2010.

Good luck!

Re: Desktop Manager refuses to synchronize outlook 2010 calendar

Hello,

thank you for your advise. Unfortunately it was not helpful, because following it I downloaded the suggested DM version 7 and realized that the downloaded file was exactly the same as that I already had installed. Trying to find the details of my installation I found that the "Version 5 pack" information displayed on the main panel of the DM refers to the OS version installed on the BB. Looking at the "?" symbol I got the confirmation that effectively version 7.1.0.41 of the DM was installed on the PC. I hoped that a re-installation of Outlook 2010 for the other Office applications I have version 2012 Home and Student installed) would solve the problem. But it did'nt - unfortunately. Now I don't know what to do else to have the calendar synchronization problem solved. I would be greatfur to you if you could give me some additional advise. Thank you.

Re: Desktop Manager refuses to synchronize outlook 2010 calendar

Oh...OK...given the inaccurate information in post 1, let's start over then...I suggest this thread:

It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.

Good luck!

Re: Desktop Manager refuses to synchronize outlook 2010 calendar

Hello again,

I've done everything the thread suggests - but except the contacts DM still continues to display the error message "services not supported" if I try to set up synchronization parameters for the calendar, the tasks etc. If you have other suggestions, please let me know. Thank you for your efforts. Have a nice day

Re: Desktop Manager refuses to synchronize outlook 2010 calendar

Given your confusion over your Desktop Software version, do you perhaps have a similar confusion with your Outlook version? For example, if your Outlook truly is OL2013, then your result would be expected since OL2013 is not supported by any version of the Desktop Software. Similarly, if you have an older version of Outlook that is not specifically supported by the exact version of the Desktop Software you are using, then that result would also be expected.

Or...does this perhaps apply?

  • KB24040 Support for Microsoft Office 2010 Click-to-Run installation

From all you report, there is a mis-match between the version of the Desktop Software you are using and the version of Outlook you have...and so you must figure out what that mis-match is.

Good luck!

Re: Desktop Manager refuses to synchronize outlook 2010 calendar

Hello again,

thank you for the additional information. There is no confusion with regard to this point, I have installed a "normal" Outlook 2010 version. However, the information given in your comment and the different topics you have indicated suggest to me that the fact that I have recently installed Office 2012 (Setup.X86.fr-FR_HomeStudentRetail_37bed5c1-d473-462e-a960-b24f4f1cf99b_TX_DB_.exe), a version without Outlook - I continue to use Outlook 2010 installed earlier as already specified, has modified the version of all Office applications in MAPI to indicate "2012" - not yet supported by DM 7.0.

May that be true and if the answer is affirmatif, when can a new version of DM be expected supporting O2012?

Thank you for re-considering my request once more.

Again, anything is possible...I've never seen Office 2012, so I've no idea if it perhaps has corrupted your Outlook 2010 installation. You perhaps could try re-installing Outlook 2010?

Since I don't work for BlackBerry, I have no way to know the answer to that question. I've never seen, in anything published by BlackBerry, any reference to any Office/Outlook 2012 versions...only 2010 and 2013...but never 2012. Many are anxious for support for 2013, but again, since I don't work for BlackBerry, I have no insight into if/when such support will exist.

Good luck!

Re: Desktop Manager refuses to synchronize outlook 2010 calendar

I have already tried re-installing Outook 2010 -without un-installing Office 2012 before, but without succes. May be one day I try the following: uninstalling Office 2012 and re-installing Outlook 2010, just to see what happens. If you would like to, once that has been made I can report the result to you.
