Desktop software asking for wrong BB ID password

Spent a long time trying to set up a BB ID on my Curve 8520 which I couldn't activate at the time and unfortunately I didn't make a note of the password.  Couldn't activate the software provided on CD and finally managed to download it recently. Was asked to create a new BB ID, which I did and which the phone now recognises although the desktop software is asking for the old password before I can connect.


Would be grateful for any pointers on how to bypass this.
