Failed to Connect Message when attempting to connect blackberry via USB to computer.

I was able to connect to my computer for internet access without difficulty for a month or so. Just recently when I attempt to tether my Blackberry Curve to my laptop I get a failed to connect message that says to check profile settings and radio settings. I already tried to reinstall desktop manager software. Any suggestions?
