Failed to Start Mobile Internet on PC

Hi,
Downloaded BlackBerry's Desktop Software on my PC which am using Window 8 on, tried connecting it to the Internet with the Mobile Internet but fails to connect to the internet. This message keeps poping out "Failed to Start Mobile Internet, the specified port is not open". Checked everything but all is in other, still couldn't get what went wrong. Somebody please help, thanks in advance

same issue. I have a windows 8 laptop and my mobile internet will not work at all but works fine with windows 7 or XP. Its hard to keep a phone and paying for a data plan that i can't use as i need to, and considering how much i travel and rely on my mobile internet this is not a small issue for me.

 

lets get on this fix guys...i like your phones but im wasting money paying for a service i can't use.

Same issue here. I am running Win8 Pro x64 tethering a Bold 9780.

Blackberry Software 7.1. It connected the first time and since rebooting will produce Failed error.

Eventvwr shows:

Event ID: 20227

Source: RasClient

The error code returned on failure is 633.
