Help with 4.5...please!

I am on ATT with an 8820.  I have xp pro and have been using 4.2 for some time now, but am starting to get error messages when I sync up.  I have removed the program from my laptop and have been trying to download 4.5 (or even 4.3 for that matter) from the blackberry website.  I start the download process and it gets hung up with 2 seconds to completion; this happens whether I try to "save" or "run".  Any sage advice from anyone?

You would be better of if you use any download manager like Internet Download Manager. For me this worked though only one channel is allowed for download by RIM for downloading any application from their site.

Mine hung too but I had to go do something, came back 45 minutes later and it finished.
