Just updated desktop - it keeps freezing

Against  my better judgement, I allowed the new desktop update to be installed. TOTAL DISASTER! The last one was bad, this was worse, if possible.


When I try to exit, it keeps freezing. I have to force a close via the Task Manager (3 times!). I have shut down, rebooted, both the PC and BB, and the problem isn't getting any better. I have already lost too much calendar information and too many contacts, I can't afford to lose any more. Any suggestions?

It starts with a process for cleanly starting over (with several optional items for cleanly removing, which you may need to use), and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
