I don't like, really don't like windows, and use Arch linux. And all around me friend's computers get converted to Xubuntu, each time a friend experiments windows disorders or disaster ... and they are happy. It's as easy to use, easyer to fix thanks to good comunity support and less opacity of the system, and runs much smoother on old hardware.
BUT ... does RIM has for, to release a version of it's desktop software for Linux ? is there already a version, even beta, available ?
If no, at least making a "portable app" version of the desktop software would be usefull.
Portable apps are windows apps, that run standalone from a pendrive, which is usefull for nomadic users who works a day on a computer, otherday on another. It's also usefull to linux users because portable apps behave mostly good with "wine", mostly even quicker than with anoriginal MS system.
