Option's value is unacceptable" while configuring the sync settings for Outlook

hi

I have a new laptop and have installed outlook 2013 and Desktop manager. When I try to configure organiser I get  the following message "

Option's value is unacceptablele.

I have used DM version 6 as the sync works on my current laptop and 7 doesn't.

I use IMAP and outlook is working perfectly.

What am I doing wrong? i need it to work please

Thanks in anticipation

Richard

Re: Option's value is unacceptable" while configuring the sync settings for Outlook

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Unfortunately, what you are attempting to do is to use a version of Outlook that is not presently supported by any version of the BB Desktop Software:

  • KB12268 Synchronization support for BlackBerry Desktop Software for Windows

Consequently, the only resolution is to fall back to a supported version of Outlook. The only other alternative is to wait for OL2013 support to arrive (the "if and/or when" of which cannot be predicted).

Good luck!

Re: Option's value is unacceptable" while configuring the sync settings for Outlook

"7"???? I've no idea to what you are referring there. Your issues are related to your choice of Outlook version, for which I've never heard of "7" being one of...

If you mean Windows7, then that is not at issue at all...the BB Desktop Software is completely compatible with Win7. It is your choice of Outlook version that is at issue.

Good luck!

>7 referencing veriosn of DM not windows.
it doesnt work with the choice of Dell on their latest laptops ie Outlook 2013. Its BB that cant keep up as far as i can tell plus version 7 desktop manager wont sync anyway due to some ridic imcompatability of some contacts which have been transferred from hotmail.

Ummm...OK, I think...that's a little hard to parse to any intelligible sentences...

Your issue remains I think as I stated originally, with the workarounds being also what I already stated. I cannot change what is...all I can do is give you information about the way things are, so that you can make your own decisions as to how you wish to proceed. But I can't change anything.

Re: Option's value is unacceptable" while configuring the sync settings for Outlook

thanks. the workarounds don't work for me, i appreciate they may for some but it isn't practical to wade through 1600 contacts to find the few which are preventing the sync to complete. Its my own fault as i mistakenly combined my Hotmail contacts with my outlook contacts which has caused no end of problems and is seemingly irreversible.

Re: Option's value is unacceptable" while configuring the sync settings for Outlook

I fear you have totally missed my points in this thread. You can't fix anything about your individual contact items, for there likely is nothing at all wrong with them (and I've certainly not recommended that as any workaround for what you've stated here in this thread). The whole issue is that you are using an incompatible version of Outlook, and there is no way to fix that other than via the means I already told you of. OL2013 is simply not compatible...period.

i was referencing two issues which was perhaps a little confusing, 1. DM 7 wont sync my contacts or calendar anymore in outlook 2010. something to do with recurring reminders and contacts imported from Hotmail et al. am i correct i this??
2. there inst a DM for outlook 2013, is this correct?

Indeed...

I don't know...it is a little challenging to diagnose from symptom reports that contain "something to do with...". The exact and complete error message is always better.

"inst"? Sorry, I don't know what that means. But I believe that I have already clearly stated the OL2013 issue.
