pity they didn't just do this......
go here: http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/
if you're computer looks like this...then you have the nvdia chipset and the BB will not sync.
even easier, is your optical drive on the front or side of the machine. if it's on the side, then it's the new model. if it's in the front, then it's the previous version macbook pro and your BB "should" sync after updating it's software (through windows).

Just wanted to let you all know, I got the bberry bold yesterday and I could sync it using the current version of pocketmac. However it did not sync all my information and the second time I tried it, it wiped out all my contacts on the bold. So if anyone of you are trying this make sure you save your contacts and information somewhere.
No resolution from RIM on our problem yet. Last they said they were working on a desktop software for macbooks and are trying to resolve our issue.
Don't bother spending money to open a ticket I have on open already.
PS. The new bold is really amazing but you can barely feel the vibrating.....

I JUST RECEIVED THIS EMAIL FROM POCKETMAC SUPPORT:
We've recently received reports of customers being unable to
sync their BlackBerry handhelds on the new Aluminum MacBook laptops.
It appears this is due to a change Apple made to some of the
hardware and software for that new model. Apple was good enough to
overnight us a loaner MacBook unit so that we can work with them to
pinpoint the source of this issue.
While we don't yet have a solution to this problem, we do
expect to have at least some interim solution available for testing
shortly. We've setup a knowledgebase page on our site that you can
easily track the status of this bug and its fix. It's available at:
If you have one of these new MacBooks and would like to help us
test possible fixes, just reply to this email and we'll email the
moment we have a fix available. Until then, we'll be heads-down,
working on fixing this for you.

Thanks for the post gcab. Any chance you could post the email address from PocketMac support so we can all get notified of progress?
