Silent installation of Blackberry Desktop Manager 610_b038

[ Edited ]

Hi,

I've got problems to install Blackberry Desktop Manager 610_b038 in silent mode.

I've got admin rights on a win7 x64 machine.

The setup.exe starts with following commandline:

setup.exe /S /l1033 /v/qn

The setup.exe call a msi installation and it runs a few seconds, then it exit. In the MSI Logfile there a some conspicuously entries:

MSI (s) (7C:90)

[15:04:04:913]: Doing action: RIM_CheckFileSignature Action ended 15:04:04: CostFinalize. Return value 1. MSI (s) (7C:AC)

[15:04:04:913]: Invoking remote custom action. DLL: C:\Windows\Installer\MSI59F.tmp, Entrypoint: BBDMUtil_CheckFileSignature MSI (s) (7C!24)

[15:04:04:976]: Doing action: ResolveSource Action start 15:04:04: RIM_CheckFileSignature. Action start 15:04:04: ResolveSource. Action ended 15:04:04: ResolveSource. Return value 1. RIM:

File C:\Users\username~1\AppData\Local\Temp\RIM_Setup\Data1.cab is not signed by RIM, quitting installer CustomAction RIM_CheckFileSignature returned actual error code 1603 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox)

Action ended 15:04:42: RIM_CheckFileSignature. Return value 3. Action ended 15:04:42: INSTALL. Return value 3.

The Prerequirements like vcredist is already installed.

I used google and the results leaded me to missing certifcates. After this i imported the verysign certificates but the error is still the same. (MSI 1602, by using the executionline above).

Are there any solutions available?

The installation have to be done automatically on round about 40 - 50 clients.

If there are any questions, please ask me.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,

MisterX

Hello,

I've never attempted what you are trying, but have you seen these documents?

Also, have you considered updating to the latest Desktop Software (7.0)?

Good luck!

Desktop Manager is an older term, and is technically a component within the Desktop Software.

Hi sdgardne,

thanks for your help. I already read the links and imported the certificates but nothing changes appears.

But the error / problem still exists...

Does the installation need internet access?

Typically, yes.

  • KB16471 BlackBerry Desktop Software prompts that an Internet connection is required to configure synchronization
