Synchronization of Calendar in Outlook 2007 Stops Abruptly

I just bought a new Curve 8310 and installed the new Desktop Manager software version 4.3.0.17.  The Desktop Manager stops abruptly when I try to synch my Outlook 2007 calendar.  I run Vista.  I have tried uninstalling the Desktop Manager software and reinstalling it from the RIM website.  In my attempts to synch, one of two things happens: (1) I receive a Windows message that the program has terminated and Windows will look for a solution (none found and the program aborts), or (2) I receive a message "Unknown Error Reported".  It was not doing this last night.  The only change is that I accepted a new meeting maker for a meeting later today.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have the same problem with 4.6 and my blackberry 8820.  I too posted a question - I'll let you know if I get a response and you please do the same.  I think there's a corrupt file you need to delete - see if you can find the "Intellisync Folder" - delete it and re-sync and see if that fixes it.

FIXED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Bifocals - thanks for your reply - I used a combination of your suggestions to solve my problem.  For those of you who come after me - here's what worked for me:

 

1.  Uninstall the Desktop software

2.  Turnoff antivirus software

3.  Turnoff User Account Control (in Vista Control Panel) - requires reboot

4.  Re-install Desktop software

5.  Run the sync to confirm problem resolved

6.  Turn on antivirus software

7.  Turn on User Account Control - requires reboot

8.  Run the sync to confirm problem hasn't reappeared.

 

This worked for me - thanks for your help.
