Torch 9800 will not connect to BB MAC desktop software

A while ago, i updated my blackberry torch 9800 and then some of the apps would no longer work - such as Whatsapp, yelp, etc. giving an error message when trying to open them. They worked flawlessly prior to the upgrade. My mac desktop software is freshly downloaded and both OS and mac software are current. Please advise on how to fix the connect so I can essentially reinstall my OS to try and get these apps and the phone to work properly.
