Transfer of contacts back-up on to new phone

Hi all,

I recently lost my blackberry 9360 handset and have replaced it with a 9300.  Does anyone know how I can transfer the data that I have backed up on my Desktop Software on to the new phone?  Everything I try prompts me to connect the old phone that I no longer have.

Many thanks

Article ID: KB10339 How to use BlackBerry Desktop Software to restore data to a BlackBerry smartphone from a backup file

For BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0 to 7.0

  1. Open the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
  2. Click Device.
  3. Select Restore in the list.
  4. Select a backup file.
  5. Choose Select device data and settings.
  6. Select the databases to restore (such as your Address Book) and click Restore.
  7. A warning will appear that all data will be replaced with a backup file. Click Yes.
  8. When the process is complete, disconnect the BlackBerry smartphone from the computer.

Note: For information regarding the different databases and their functionality on a BlackBerry smartphone, see KB03974.
