Trouble Syncing Windows Contacts

Ever since I upgraded my BlackBerry desktop software to version 7, I can't successfully sync my Windows Contacts. It seems to only put around 1/8 of all my Contacts on my phone, and then I get this error: "An error has occured during an attempt to access a file on the computer". When I had version 6, everything synched just fine, but now I'm out of luck. Is there a fix out there somewhere for this? Help!!

Re: Trouble Syncing Windows Contacts

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

I suggest this thread:

It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.

Good luck!

Re: Trouble Syncing Windows Contacts

I wish I could say this worked, but it didn't.  I might have to get another phone because of this, and it won't be a BlackBerry unless they can develop a fix for this problem.  Thanks anyway.

Re: Trouble Syncing Windows Contacts

Well that is a pity. There are many optional steps within that process, so I can only assume you've done all of them to no avail, including falling back to a prior Desktop Software version. I never promise success, of course...there will always be some subset of the population for which nothing cures their situation.

Good luck!

Re: Trouble Syncing Windows Contacts

Can you do me a favor?  I wasn't able to find a link to any of the older versions of the Desktop software, all I could find throughout the whole site was version 7.  Do you possibly have a link to the latest of the version 6 Desktop software?  I think that would do it if I could uninstall 7 and re-install 6.  Thanks for all your help!!

Well, if you scroll up to Message 2 of this thread, it says that the linked "start over" thread has post 15, which has the links to the older versions...but let me naviate to that for you...

There you go...took three more tabs opened in Chrome, but got it for you.
