blackberry torch backup need help

i have taken backup from my blackberry 9800 on a usb through blackberry destop manager but now i am not able to restore it as the data in usb is not shown on the destop manager

Can you clarify please -- "data in usb"? I don't understand what you mean by that. You also can find, via the Backup link in my auto-sig below, full instructions about the backup/restore process.

i have taken the backup directly on my pendrive

but now when i am trying to restore my phone the data which was backuped by me on the pendriveis

not shown by the destop manager now

 

 

(the pendrive is showing the data in my computer but when i am opening that data via destop manager to restore it is not shown)

 

 

so please help me as i am having all my contacts in it

So, on this "pendrive" (which I assume to be a separate USB drive attached to your computer, not something attached directly to your BB) you have an IPD or a BBB file which you can see via Windows Explorer, and that is the backup you took. But, when you attempt to restore via the Desktop Software, you cannot see the file.

What, exactly, do you try to attempt to see the file? If you have not changed the setting, inside the Desktop Software, for the folder on your computer it is looking in, then this may be the expected result. When you start the restore process, the software looks only in the folder for which it is configured (normally My Documents) for IPD/BBB files...if your backup file is in a different folder than the Desktop Software is looking in, then you have two choices:

1) Change the setting, in the Desktop Software, and direct it to the drive/folder that currently contains your IPD/BBB files

2) Copy or Move the IPD/BBB files from their present location into the folder that the Desktop Software is looking.
