Application Loader

I downloaded the latest version of both the desktop and device software for my 8310 from the ATT site.  Both installed without a problem.  However, when I tried to download the device software onto my phone I immediately got a note saying "Application Loader Wizard requires BB Device Manager be installed" then it immediately goes to "Checking for Device Application Updates" and stalls. I eventually have to stop the whole procedure by shutting it down.  To make matters worse, it now takes 20 minutes for my computer to boot up in the morning and only started doing that after I downloaded the software.  HELP!

Re: Application Loader

Greetings, and welcome to the BlackBerry.com Support Forums.

You probably installed Desktop Manager with the Roxio media software, I am guessing. It is slow. I uninstalled that verison, and subsequently installed the version of DM withOUT Roxio. Try DM version 4.7.

Download Desktop Manager from here:

https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22

You can install Desktop Manager with out the Update notification, you will see that choice toward the end of the install process.

Re: Application Loader

Thanks!  This worked perfectly.  Everything is installed and BB is up and running with the new software.  I really appreciate your help.  Now...can I delete the device application from my computer so it doens't hog space?

THANKS!!!!!

Re: Application Loader

You are very welcome.

I would keep Desktop Manager installed to your PC. Use it to backup your BB routinely.

Re: Application Loader

Didn't work for me but you can:

Delete entire Application Loader folder, and problems gone.

You just need to use another computer to load.

You can also create a new user. Loader works fine with new user as well.

Doesn't make much sense, but it works.
