BB automatically deleting emails

I will receive emails on my BB and whether they are open or unread about an 1 to 2 hours after the emails are gone.  I have searched through the settings and can not find anything that says auto delete.  it does not delete all message it seems to just delete some.  here is an example of the test I did.  I sent five test emails from my personal email account to my work account(the only one on my BB).  I labeled each email 1 through 5.  I made it a point to not open any of the five emails on the BB.  through out the next 2 hours I received about 5 other emails.  then for no reason they are all gone.  I did not open any of the email they were just deleted off the blackberry.  Any Suggestions?

Re: BB automatically deleting emails

I apologize about my inexperience, but how do you check the memory?  I have not added any extras to the phone.  All that I have done is synced with outlook on my computer.

Re: BB automatically deleting emails

On the home screen press and hold the ALT key and while holding it down key in E A C E

You'll be taken to a Help Me! screen ... File Free: is the amount of space on the device.  What does yours say?  What does your file total say too?

Re: BB automatically deleting emails

file free = 23336026 bytes

file total = 58064896

side note- it just happened again.  i had one new email from this site notifiying me about a response. then i saw the number turn to 2 unread emails.  i took my eyes of the phone for about a minute and then it said i had only one unread email left.  it deleted one of the unread emails.

Re: BB automatically deleting emails

How is the BB integrated through BIS?  For example, I have a mailbox integrated through OWA ... some people use POP, others IMAP, others direct forwarding to blackberry.net address.

Re: BB automatically deleting emails

I'll be honest with you, I don't really understand how BIS works successfully with POP3 ... I could understand IMAP, but not POP.  Any way you can reconfigure to use IMAP4?

Re: BB automatically deleting emails

We are a smaller company and all of the email is set up over an internet server using POP3.  is there a setting that on the phone that would stop it from deleting unread messages.  right now I have 23 emails in my outlook inbox on my computer and only 9 emails on my BB.  I have not deleted any emails from location.  they have just disappeared.

Re: BB automatically deleting emails

I wish I could tell you ... The only thing I could think of is your PC is popping the mail down as the HH is also trying to and the HH is dropping /deleting the message as it didnt get the entire thing downloaded.

using POP is a hack :-/
