Blackberry user ID

Following an updated, I have been asked for my blackberry ID password but I have forgotten it. My user ID is linked to a email address which is no longer open. Can anyone advise how I can change the user ID if I do nt know my password :Oops:

HI im having the same problem, haven't been able to use my bbm for over a week, i know my password and email address (i only have 1) but it keeps saying its wrong???? i can log in online and reset my password but it still wont accept it??????????????

so its obviously something to do with the update then??? im now trying to figure out how i return to factory settings to start again....not good!!!!!!

Hi, 

 

The BBID password can be recovered using 2 options :

1. Recovering it through your email.

2. Recovering it through the secret question set by you.

 

Since your email id is not open anymore you can try to recover using the secret question. If option 2 fails.

 

You will have to associate your device with a new BBID. You will lose any data related to your older ID, including purchased apps, BBM contacts ( If using BBM7) etc.

 

Another method I can recommend is,

You may open the same id again, provided its still available and then recover your password using option number 1.

 

While logging in also make sure you are connected to your wireless network and try again.

hi, iv had to do a security swipe, its worked but iv lost all my music, bbm contacts etc, so its like having a new phone, but at least its all working again, just having to start from scratch, bit of a pain but hey ho, i will think twice before updating in the future, I contacted blackberry and was made to feel like a silly little woman who didnt know the difference between upper and lower case, had I spelt my name right ?was a frequently asked question..lol.

in the device options, there is a screen to log in BlackBerry ID.
