My blackberry curve 9360 was stolen a few days ago, i never synced it with my computer but I always backed it up on blackberry protect and i can access my data if i go to protect.blackberry.com and login with my blackberry ID. I see that my backup files exist but i cant download them, and i cant get a new blackberry at the moment but i really need all my contacts and their phone numbers, is there anyway that i could retrieve that information onto my macbook?

BB Protect backup files have only one use...to restore to a BB device. There is no other use of them. Hence the reason that BB Protect is a fine component of a good backup practice, but by no means should be considered to be the sole component.
If you can gain access to another BB, even for a short period, you can restore to it and then backup to your computer, from which you can obtain 3rd party apps to extract the local backup data to human readable format. However, I've never heard of those tools for MAC...but I also don't look for MAC stuff.
If you do attempt this (restore from BB Protect to another BB), you must be very careful...refer:
