Can't click links when Internet Browsing

I have a Blackberry Storm. When I am on a web page I cannot click on any links and get no response. The only red flag was that my battery was draining at a fast rate and later on in the evening and into the morning I could not get onto the network. I charged my Blackberry 100% and now the battery doesn't drain, and I can open the web browser and check out web pages but I can't click on any links. I did the reset by removing the battery and I have not seen this issue that much on other forum. I am desperately in need of help!!!!

Re: Can't click links when Internet Browsing

Greetings, and welcome to the BlackBerry.com Support Forums.

If you slightly touch (not pressing) what appears to be a link on your browser page, does it highlight (turn blue)?

Turning blue would indicate that your device does recognize it as a hyperlink.

You do have a BlackBerry Data Plan on your account... you do have a working browser on your device?

Can you use the browser to open a site?

My first suggestion is With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

Then try it again.

Re: Can't click links when Internet Browsing

I can open my browser, go to any website, but I just cant click on any links or buttons to sign into anything. I took out the battery and reinserted it several times with the same result, it still wont let me click on anything. Another thing, every little thing I do, the little clock shows up and it takes forever to do anything. I know how to close all the programs by holding the Blackberry button and closing them individually so I know an open program isn't slowing anything down. Right about now the iPhone is looking pretty **bleep** good.

A hard reset is simply removing your battery while the device is powered on, replacing it and rebooting.

What did do for a 'hard reset'?

Re: Can't click links when Internet Browsing

its when you go into security options then general options then press blackberry key then select wipe handheld. It totally brings everything back to original settings.

Re: Can't click links when Internet Browsing

That is a security wipe, not a reset, soft or hard. That ONLY wipes personal data, contacts, settings and preferences from the device. It does not affect the base OS, and really doesn't take the device back to the factor settings at all.

But if it worked for you..  good. I hope you didn't lose too much data.

Re: Can't click links when Internet Browsing

Hi:

I don´t want to do any type of wiping of the information in my device, I am tired of hearing people say that the fix is to reformat and reinstall everything (speaking about computers). I would like someone who knows, to tell us what specific setting to change, if this is the reason; however, as this is something that started happening to several users in the last days, I think it should be related to something in common (just guessing: Internet silent upgrade, virus, etc.) but can`t figure out what. Please, expert guys, shed some ligth on us.

Regards.
