Can't update OS 7.1 Bundle 1647 to 7.1 Bundle 2102 on Curve 9360, asks to verify net connection. Resolved

The update stops after backup is completed. My connection is smooth, broadband.  I have also downloaded the direct update link from Vodafone Australia http://au.blackberry.com/support/apps-and-software/desktop-and-device-download-sites.html

I had the same issue earlier when updating from OS6 to OS7, back then it used to stop mid backup. I had to get help from blacberry Canada to get it done, but I forgot the procedure.

 I have tried almost everything but a hard reset which I don't want to. The update only shows up on BB dev mgr. not on the hanset.

I finally got it to work without calling Blackberry, with a bit of help from here.         http://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry-curve-9370-9360-9350-f237/how-upgrade-os-7-1-curve-9360-a-73...

I didn't follow all the nstructions though. What I dd was as follows:

1. Delete all RIM software from program and features.

2. Delete all traces of remaining RIM program files.

3. Restart the device.

4. Install the hanset and service provider specific installation I got from : http://au.blackberry.com/support/apps-and-software/desktop-and-device-download-sites.html

And there it was, all done.
