Is BIS PUSH really 20 minutes?

I have had Blackberry's for years, hooked up to company BES and got immediate emails.  Now I am off and using BIS PUSH for the company emails and it is taking up to 20 minutes (which then drops down to a couple minutes following the first email).  Should it take 20 minutes??

Re: Is BIS PUSH really 20 minutes?

True. Very very normal on POP email accounts.

Actually, you should be experiencing 15 minute push intervals. If the servers find email, they check again in two minutes, and again and again, until they eventually don't find new mail, and it reverts back to a 15 minute cycle.

Re: Is BIS PUSH really 20 minutes?

Thank you for your prompt and thorough answer, I appreciate your help.

I wonder if WinMob, anddroid or some other operating system pushes quicker emails?  I can't go company BES but need emails quicker than 15-20.

Re: Is BIS PUSH really 20 minutes?

Does your server support IMAP4?  For my use of an IMAP server notification is more or less immediate.  Might be worth trying....

I don't have a server at the house and the company IT DEPT in Denver strictly controls their server farm.

Sorry, those ^^ don't push to your device. It's a whole different technology.
