Has anyone else had problems with this update. After 21/2 hours of download to update the Desktop software announce it could not communicate with my device (bold 9900). Device crashed with software Issue. tried re-loading twice & both failed with same issue. Re loaded with older version and device worked within 40 minutes.
Using PC with Windows 8 and destop version 22.214.171.124. Never had an issue with the updates in the last 4 years of using Blackberrys & been well impressed ... but this one???

downgrading the OS you can try those simple steps :
1.Locate and Download the OS you desire from here BlackBerry Software Download Site
2. Now Double Click on the file that you Downloaded to Install it on your PC
3. Download and install the latest BlackBerry desktop software from here BlackBerry desktop software
4.Search your C: Drive for any Vendor.xml files and delete them, there may be one or two vendor.xml ( On your PC change your folders option to show hidden files / folders :
5. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader. (For 64-bit Vista or Windows 7, the path will be C: > Program Files x86 > Common Files > Research In Motion > AppLoader) double click Loader.exe.
Downgarde will continue then After Installation of New OS restore your backup using BlackBerry desktop
As you already downloaded the OS pack so you can skip # steps 1 , and continue with the rest .But please note don't Install multiple OS pack on your PC , if you already have any other OS pack install in your PC other then the one you'll be using then Uninstall it .

Definitely something wrong with this update.
We’ve tried updating 4 devices and all of them returned either app error 200 or 606.
Re-installed desktop manager and downloaded the updates also and same result every time.
Support was unable to assist with the issue.
Ended up reverting to older OS version to get the device up and running.

I also blindly went ahead and tried to update my Bold 9900 only to have major errors. When the previous software was reloaded my desktop doesn't recognize my phone (connect) and I end up in an endless loop unable to restore to my last backup. The previous software bundle states it loaded properly, any ideas?

I had this cycle too, in the end I repaired without back up OS only and restored to the previous operating system. When it finished I closed down computer & phone, re booted both then re-connected. In my case it then recognised the phone _ which I was then able to do a sync & restore from back up (refusing the upgrade).
I think it may have been more luck than judgement but my 9900 works perfectly now ... good luck
