I have a Curve 9350 and I got a notification this morning that I had a software update, so I accepted it and it is currently trying to do the update on my actual mobile, (not the desktop manager via PC) but is currently stuck backing up the data, on 0% Social Feeds and 9% Overall, and it has been stuck for around 3-4 Hours. PLEASE HELP as I can't use my phone and its my business phone!!

If the backup get stuck again at 10-20% at the Social Feeds backup module , please let me know.

I have the exact same problem with this newest software, on my bold 9900.
i am stuck at social feeds, at 13%.
i've done as you've suggested, and started to update through my computer. I am currently still stuck at 13% and not moving any further.
what can i do now?

I'm having this same problem now. I'm trying to update to OS 7.1 on my Torch 9810. Mne froze on 'Backing Up Your Data', 'Social Feeds' 0%, 'Overall Backup Progress 4%. It has been like this for over 5 hours now, hasn't moved at all. My handset downloaded the update ok. I even tried updating via website and desktop manager.
Taking the battery out then putting it back in did not work at all. I'll try this what you said.
I created a post about it at the beginning of 'Device Software for BlackBerry thread.
Glad I'm not the only one having this sort of problem. I'll let you know what happens.

Please expand on that...for instance, can I assume you've rebooted everything (PC, BB)? If so, and what you say remains the symptom, then you may need this
It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
