I'm experiencing the same issue with my 8830 I had bought from Verizon Wireless. The overseas provider keeps seeing the message "PIN already registered with another provider". I contacted the Verizon technical support twice now and they keep saying that they tapped into the RIM database and my PIN does not show up there, i.e. it has been released. They also keep saying that they cannot patch me through to RIM or open a ticket with RIM since the RIM database shows that the PIN is no longer registered with Verizon.
I tried contacting RIM technical support @ 1.877.255.2377, they want to charge me $75 up front before transferring my call to one of their support reps, and that does not even guarantee that my issue will be resolved!
Has anyone been able to get around this or get it resolved?
