how to know the SIM card is BIS enabled or not?

Hi

I have developed a http connection based BlackBerry application.

I am able to download the application and install properly on the device. But I am not able to make http connection through the application. Programmatically all the connections were proper. Throuth the Simulator I am able to make http connection.

Can you please suggest me that will I have to change any settings in my BlackBerry device? I heard that to make http connections the SIM card should be BIS enabled. How can I know programmatically or manually that whether my SIm is BIS enabled or not?

Thanks in advance.

Re: how to know the SIM card is BIS enabled or not?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

I find that the simplest way to tell if a BB is BIS enabled or not is to go into the Email Setup app (Setup > Email Settings). In there, if you are presented only with Enterprise and not Personal Email configuration choices, then the BB is not BIS enabled. The carrier would need to be contacted to enable BIS on the BB (at whatever fees they charge).

Cheers!

Re: how to know the SIM card is BIS enabled or not?

Thanks for the reply...

I have checked it in the device.

In Setup Wizard - > Email Setup - > BB Enterprise Server. As you suggested that my SIm is not BIS enabled.

To make the http connection the SIM should be BIS enabled?

Can you please tell me how to make the application in working state?

Thanks in advance.

On my Blackberry Bold 9780, one can find out whether BIS is enabled or not under :

All > Manage Connections > Service Status > Blackberry Internet Service
