software update has stopped!HELP!

i recieved an email telling me to update my blackberry software, i downloaded the software and began to install it 6 hours ago, it is still only on 7% of the backing up files stage. does anyone know how to fix this?!

You can't really fix it, you'll just have to start over.

 

Despite the warning of not unplugging your phone during the update process, I'm advising you to do just that...unplug your phone.  After doing that, close down BlackBerry Desktop Software then re-open it.  Plug your phone back in to your PC and open BDS once again.  You'll probably get a message that your phone needs updating or it might show Error 507.  Either way, BlackBerry Desktop Software should kick in and offer to reload your OS.  It might be the newer version of OS, it might be the former version you had installed.  Either way, load what is offered and you should be okay.
