8520 Mail snycronisation with Desktop Manager

Hi Everyone,

i have a Problem with my BB 8520.

The e-mail syncronisation between the Desktop Manager an my BB doesn't work.

i can not click the Button to activate the syncronisation.

Is the 8520 able to sync with the Desktop Manager? (I have Outlook2007 with an exchange server)

THX!

regards, Manuel

Re: 8520 Mail snycronisation with Desktop Manager

Manuel, welcome to the Forum.

Sorry, no. On a personal BIS account such as you have, there is no feature to sync email and messages via the Desktop Manager with Outlook. That is a feature of BlackBerry Enterprise Service.

Ah, I missed that you said you have BES.

Did you install the Desktop Manager with the BES option?

I'll get this thread moved to the BES section.

[ Edited ]

Even on a BES the Desktop manager doesn't synchronize emails. If you installed with the BES/work email option you'll have the checkbox available to Reconcile Messages. But that doesn't synch emails per say. That'll reconcile moves, deletes, and read states of email messages.

If you're on a BES your data should be wirelessly syncing. Is doing that correct?

Re: 8520 Mail snycronisation with Desktop Manager

Your device does not even hold the whole message only a 2 or 4k chunk of it.

The rest downloads when you open it if you have the device set to do so.

The device will run out of memory before you could sync them all.

With BES 4.1.5 and OS 4.5 you can do a remote search to find old messages.
