A User is getting a new Blackberry

I can't find in the  Small Business BES guide what to do when a user gets a new blackberry to replace his existing Blackberry.  On the Enterprise server do you delete the user and re-add or is there a way to change the pin or am I supposed to do it another way.

All help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: A User is getting a new Blackberry

All you need to do is activate the new blackberry against the users acount.

Do you activate OTA or do you activate using te wire?

OTA, if that means over the air.  If all you do is just add the user again, does it reuse the license?  When the user gets the new setup password is that when it re-assigns the license and drops the old BB?

Re: A User is getting a new Blackberry

I'm afraid I am not clear.  This user is in another city and the updates occur over the wireless network.

Re: A User is getting a new Blackberry

Yes... OTA = Over The Air.

I would ask the user to backup their old handset using Desktop Manager.

Once the backup has been made I would ask them to wipe the old Blackberry.

Then set an activation password for their user account on the BES.

You should not have to delete and re add the user to the BES.

Ask the user to activate the new blackberry using the activation password you have set.

The device should sync the old blackberry settings from the BES to it, so the user will not notice too much difference.
