BES 10 - post setup - Enterprise Activation

Hello,

I have recently setup BES10 (90day trial) on new build server 2008 R2 box.

All elements of the  software have installed successfully and i can access BDS, UDS and the management console.

I am looking to setup a few test users and activate the Blackberry so that i can test etc.

I have tried the Enterprise Activation on 2 mobiles this am to no avail.

Basically i have created the user looking up the user from our directory with teh BDS console, set them up and set an activation password.

I have gone to the device and tried to initiate the activation, i get the following message:

"The Blackberry Enterprise Server has not responded to your request, an error may have occured.

Email address and password are correct, email password sits in my inbox as expected and account is in the BDS.

It seems to be as if the device cannot see the server, on my pc i get the following messages from the device:

from: network@etp4-8.etp.eu.blackberry.net

This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server.

email also contains the ETP.DAT file.

Has anyone any ideas to why the devices wont activate?

Thanks for your time in advance.

Re: BES 10 - post setup - Enterprise Activation

Looks like you are not activating an BB10 device, but an legacy device. BDS can handle only BB10 devices (where BES5 can only handle older devices).

Re: BES 10 - post setup - Enterprise Activation

Hello,

Thanks for coming back to me, so from what your saying am i right saying that any other Blackberry Device other than a Z10 cannot be managed by BES10?

The Device i am trying to activate is a Blackberry 9320.

Thanks again,

That's what I said ^^
You need a Z10, old devices like the BB 9320 cannot be activated.
