Re: BES Express stopped working after Windows updates

It is normal to have multiple MAPI profiles on the server, I have

BlackBerryServer
BlackBerryServer_Agent1
BlackBerryServer_MailStoreProfile

and some CDO Profiles.

IEMSTest should work with the BlackBerryServer profile.

It looks like you don't have the SendAs rights set properly.

Could it be that you have patched your Exchange Server at the same time as your BES?

Re: BES Express stopped working after Windows updates

Yes, that is true. But I also deinstalled those patches too. Now I am trying to deinstall some older patches...

Re: BES Express stopped working after Windows updates

Is the BESAdmin user or the user that you are testing in IEMSTest a domain admin?

Re: BES Express stopped working after Windows updates

No. It is just a member of View-Only Organization Management and Domain User on domain level.

And it is a member of local Administrator-Group on the Server which is hosting BB services.

Thanks so far for your help.

I did deinstall all updates already, no help. I also recovered a backup of the server from two days ago (where it already was running). Still not working. It seems that it is more the Mail-Server than BES that causes the problems. Do you agree?

I ran a IEMTest, this is the result:

Can anybody see something which gives a hint where to look at the Mail-Server?

the send as is normal since the account does have it by default.

test a user account that is on BES

If using exchange 2003, the EWS errror can be ignored.

If on 2007 or higher you can set up EWS instead of CDO for Calendar.

It would also help to know what version mail server you are on.

Re: BES Express stopped working after Windows updates

Mail-Server ist Exchange 2010.

I also tried to recreate MAPI (like described here: Recreate MAP) and checked the registry setting (like described here: 001e6602). Both did not help.

Re: BES Express stopped working after Windows updates

What I found out today: The Exchange Server seems to be okay.

I sent an activation email to my accound and it appeared in my Outlook, but not on the BB. When trying to start Enterprise Activation in my Bold, it stay in initializing. I do have the 3G 8in capital letters) and the Blackberry logo on the display of my device.

When sending a PIN from the server to my device it works fine.

Does this help anybody to help me?

Re: BES Express stopped working after Windows updates

With the IEMSTest tool, it does not make sense to test the BESAdmin user as it obviously has Send As permissions to itself.

You have to test another user (preferably a Blackberry user). See the following KB on how to exactly run the IEMSTest.exe:

Re: BES Express stopped working after Windows updates

After a reboot I am able to enter my credentials now when starting Enterprise Activation, but the device says it cannot contact the server. I see Mails from network@etp2110.etp.eu.blackberry.net in my Outlook...

Re: BES Express stopped working after Windows updates

If you BES services don't start properly, you can't do an activation. It serves no purpose to do so. You first have to make the services start and check that the logs are clean.
