Database information grayed out during BES 5.0.4 MR8 installation

Hi

I'm trying to upgrade my server to the latest version, and on the Database information screen I cannot choose the server where the BESMgmt database is. It's all grayed out and the Local Database location is selected.

My SQL server is remote.

How can I select the right server?

Thanks,

I did, but now I just noticed I have 2 BESadmin users. 1 for BES5 and 1 for BES10.

I'm trying with the other one and I'll let you know

It's working with the other BES Admin account. Went into Windows services, and noticed the "Log On As"  was another account.

Thanks Knottyrope

Re: Database information grayed out during BES 5.0.4 MR8 installation

Almost 10 months after, I'm running in the same issue.

We moved the BESmgmt database to another SQL server. And now, when we try to upgrade to MR11, the installation wizard is still showing the old SQL server, grayed out so I cannot modify it.

I was able to run the upgrade flawlessly after modifying that registry key to the correct SQL server:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Rersearch In Motion\Blackberry Enterprise Server\Database

verify that DatabaseName is still the good one

change DatabaseServerMachineName for the FQDN of your SQL server

Hope this helps someone!

cheers
