Effect of AD user migration on BES service

Hi folks,

We have a number of sub-domains each with a BES server. We're planning to migrate the user accounts into the root domain (consolidate the domains). What will be there effect of effectively recreating the users in a different domain and reconnecting the Exchange mailbox to each user? Will BES have any issue with this?

(We're planning to leave the BES servers in place)

Many thanks in advance.

Fergus,

Re: Effect of AD user migration on BES service

Where is the BESAdmin account located in AD?

if in the root it should not matter much but you might have to recreate users in BES

Re: Effect of AD user migration on BES service

Thanks knotty,

Each BES server is separate and has its own BESAdmin account.

Could someone explain exactly where the issue might come from?

Should I make each of the BESAdmin accounts an Enterprise Admin so they can access user details in the root domain?

No dont do that. you will break it.

You will need to make a new service account in root of domain.

Re: Effect of AD user migration on BES service

Yeah that makes more sense actually. :-)

Is that all we have to do to keep the BES working?

Thanks.

Re: Effect of AD user migration on BES service
