HTTP 400 Bad Request

Morning everyone,

Some of my users, not all of them are experiencing browsing issues when using the BlackBerry Browser.

When they go to any web site the error : HTTP 400 Bad Request and then the details say either " Connection refused" or "socket exception : no buffer space available, max connections reached"

The error from the MDAT log is:

<2009-01-07 00:00:13.838 EST>:[11]:<MDS-CS_AMPBBASXXP01_MDS-CS_2>:<DEBUG>:<LAYER = IPPP, EVENT = Exception, java.net.SocketException: No buffer space available (maximum connections reached?): JVM_Bind

I am going to re boot my domino servers tonight just to eliminate a buffer issues, but if anyone else has had this issue I would like to know.  I have seen old posts in this forum and checked the tech notes, my Bes's all look OK.

Re: HTTP 400 Bad Request

so what website they are trying to browse, Intranet or Internet? What is different from the other users? BB Model or OS or ??? Was it ever working for them? Do you use proxy? Maybe max connections there? Would it work if you try to browse using BIS browser?

Re: HTTP 400 Bad Request

Have you tried restarting MDS service or the whole thing?

Re: HTTP 400 Bad Request

What version of BES are you running? and what version devices.

There is a KB article that explains some of these problems.  We had an issue where we had to increase the size of the packets to the device as there was too much data and the devices refused to display, ill see if i can find it.

[ Edited ]

Morning everyone,

Thank you for all the helpful hints and questions, apologises as I did miss a few details.

Two Bes

4.1.4 MR3

Domino 7.02

MDS was restared

different models are involved

proxy is used and OK.  I did think this was the problem initially due to the message in the log.

Update:

last night we decided to bounce the servers and this has resolved the issue.  An interesting error came up on the domino console when the quit command was issued:

Re: HTTP 400 Bad Request

Afternoon all,

Optus came back to me with a tech note:

KB13838

SDR130392

Notes API Handle leak detected is logged when shutting down the BlackBerry Enterprise Server

I am trying now to find if this has been resolved in any SP and also the internet is now available to all the users who were effected.  If I find the SP involved or anyother information that would help explain this problem I'll post it.

Please use plain text.
